An introduction to fiber and textile arts taught through rotating topics that focus on different techniques, materials, and conceptual approaches. Through production of one-of-a-kind textile pieces, students explore fabric processes in surface design, construction, and dyeing. Techniques may include, but are not limited to, embroidery, screen printing, digital printing, felting, weaving and tie-dye using natural and chemical dye processes. The course also includes the study of contemporary and historical textiles from around the world.
